There’s quite the competition for attention in country music, but those who stick to it and constantly work on their talent and skills make it to the big leagues. These are five of the best artists rising in the charts and making their mark in the industry.
1. Courtney Marie Andrews
Not every musician hustles quite as hard in the industry as Courtney Andrews has. When she was just 16 she was touring as both a guitarist and backup vocalist for wildly popular Damien Jurado and Jimmy Eat World! Now she’s releasing solo albums, and they’re a must-listen.
2. Jamie Kent
For those who favor Will Hoge, Dave Barnes, Brothers Osborne must pick up Jamie’s All American Mutt‘s title track! You’ll have it playing on repeat once the groove-heavy guitar and arpeggiated banjo light up your sound system.
3. High Valley
If you find yourself playing Mumford & Sons, Rascal Flatts, Ricky Skaggs, you have to check out these two brothers, Brad and Curtis Rempel, who are changing up the country music industry.
“A lot of people call our music super old-school, and a lot of people think it’s very progressive with all the hand claps and the stomps and the gang vocals,” says Brad. “Easily my biggest compliment is when people say it’s old school and progressive at the same time.”
